Dear Colleagues,

We are proud to inform you that the Nobel Prize in Physics 2018 was awarded to our long-time collaborators: with one half to Arthur Ashkin for «the optical tweezers and their application to biological systems» and the other half jointly to Gérard Mourou and Donna Strickland for «their method of generating high-intensity, ultra-short optical pulses». This is a very significant event for the whole laser physics world community! We congratulate the Laureates with the well-earned award!

Dear LPHYS'18 Participants,

We are happy to inform you that a new automatic registration will be implemented at LPHYS’18 in Nottingham.

We all know how long it usually takes to register on Monday morning when most of the participants arrive at one time. Long lines and missed plenary lectures. Not any more! The new automatic registration system will partially resolve related issues.

You can use the system if

  • you have previously registered online on our website,
  • you have a mark PAID on your Participant Personal Page and
  • you bring your Registration Card (printed out or on your smartphone) to registration.

Provided that all three above conditions are satisfied, you are free to register by yourself and get your badge and a conference bag.

The procedure is a simple one:

  1. scan the QR-code on your Registration Card (or use your smartphone with a displayed QR code)
  2. the screen will show your data and indicate whether everything is fine.
If everything is okay, the system will print out your badge that you can insert in a badge holder found in your conference bag.

If the system finds a problem with your automatic registration it will direct you to a registration desk for the assistance by a member of our Management Team.

We hope you don’t forget to bring your Registration Card to Nottingham and look forward to meeting you soon.

Dear LPHYS'18 Participants,

If you plan to present a poster at the Workshop please note that you can print your poster of A0 size at the University of Nottingham Student Union on campus. You can upload your artwork online and collect your order on Monday, or Tuesday, at the Print Shop. On weekdays the Print Shop is open until 16:00, closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Dear Readers, Contributors and LPHYS' Participants,

Two months ago the Editorial Office has made known about the many instances of returning our sent email messages as "Unable to deliver". Some of the messages have been filtered out and diverted to Spam by your computers. To eliminate these unfortunate occurrences we asked you to make sure that all communication channels are cleared up and free of possible spam interference. We also suggested that you contact your Internet Service Provider or an IT specialist at your workplace as soon as possible to make necessary adjustments, when needed. Please note that these problems, if they exist, can be taken care of from your end only.

At this time, during the period of the upcoming LPHYS'13, the volume of our communications is expected to rise substantially. Please take a few minutes to review and check your mail delivery system.

Many thanks,
Office of the Staff Editor

March 2, 2013

Dear LPHYS'13 participants and colleagues,

We are happy to announce the implementation of our new "Electronic Registration System" on our website.

Now registering for LPHYS'13 is part of this system.

If in the past years you had registered for previous workshops, your personal information might already exist in the system. In this case, please go to your Participant Personal Page to update your existing information and register for the upcoming LPHYS'13 workshop.

Also, this online system offers the possibility to book the hotel and to request a visa support letter (if needed) to travel to the Czech Republic. To access the system, you need to be logged on to your account which is created automatically when you register for your first LPHYS' workshop. By default, your login is your full e-mail address. Your password is your e-mail address without the first two characters and everything after the "@" sign in lower case. (For example, if your e-mail is Your.Email@eml.com your password is ur.email) We strongly suggest that you change your password as soon as possible.

Please note that this new system is fully independent of our "Electronic Submission System" designed to handle the articles submitted to our journals, so your logins and passwords in both systems might be different.

Proceedings of the 21st International Laser Physics Workshop (LPHYS'12, Calgary, July 23-27, 2012) have been published online at IOPscience Journal of Physics: Conference Series, Volume 414 (2013). To read all contributed papers please visit http://iopscience.iop.org/1742-6596/414/1.

Dear Authors,

We are happy to announce the implementation of our new Electronic Submission System to go into effect soon on our website. We would like to encourage all our authors to start using this new system right away. The system is currently in a testing mode. We need your feedback for the final tune up of the system (webmaster@lasphys.com).

With this new system publishing the results of your work will now be quicker and easier than ever before.

This online system offers all the information about submitted articles via one single login process for efficiency and security. To access this new system you need to be logged in to your account which is automatically created while submitting your first article.

Dear Contributors,

In our previous announcements on this website we informed you that we had established a new partnership with IOP Publishing (UK) to publish and distribute worldwide both our journals Laser Physics and Laser Physics Letters from January 2013. IOP has already started producing all articles accepted for publication in both journals. You can visit the newly opened websites for these journals: http://iopscience.iop.org/1555-6611 and http://iopscience.iop.org/1612-202X.

To avoid unnecessary delays, we would strongly suggest that you carefully review the new IOP article submission requirements before sending your paper to us. You can find these requirements on separate journal web pages on this website in Information for Authors and Author Guidelines. Close compliance with these requirements guarantees that your paper will be processed through editorial preparation, peer-review, acceptance and production as fast as possible.

If you have already sent us your paper after September 1, 2012 we would like to ask you to kindly resubmit it according to the new requirements.

We rely upon your understanding and cooperation.

Many thanks,

Dear Readers and Contributors,

Recently the Editorial Office observed that the unfortunate instances of returning our mail sent to you became more frequent. In the most such cases the reason given for non-delivery is that some of the servers at the receiving end viewed our mail as spam. To eliminate such instances we would ask you to make sure that our communication channels are clear, free of possible spam interference. Please contact your Internet Service Provider or an IT specialist at your workplace as soon as possible to make necessary adjustments if needed.

Many thanks,
