LPHYS'18.    Visa Support:

Citizens of the European Union do not need a visa to enter UK. If you are from any other country, find out about visa requirements before you travel by visiting www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa.

UK Embassies and Consulates issue entry visas to the foreign citizens abroad. Many authorized local travel agencies in your country can assist with visa application and deliver the issued visa to your address. You can find detailed information on where and how to apply for your entry visa to UK on this website.

In order to be able to come to UK for LPHYS'18 you should obtain a Standard Visitor Visa. To apply for this visa you should first receive an invitation letter from our host organization IOP.

Below outlined the necessary steps in obtaining your invitation letter:

  1. Register for the Workshop by filling out and submitting a Registration Form online.
  2. Log in to LPHYS' Workshop Participant Personal Page and select Edit Personal Information page on the left. You need to enter or update required information and then select Visa Request page on the left. On this page please enter the following information:
    • dates of planned entry and departure (add a few days before and after your planned visit);
    • purpose of your visit: to attend LPHYS'18 at the University of Nottingham, University Park, Nottingham, NG7 2RD;
    • full postal address to which the invitation letter to be mailed
  3. Please provide similar personal data for all persons accompanying you on this trip.
  4. Invitation letter(s), when ready, will be sent to your email address in PDF.

All British consulates accept PDF copies of all supporting documents in A4 format. However, if you require the original letter mailed out to your address please note that international deliveries can take more than two weeks and that IOP is unable to track the delivery progress or arrange express delivery. IOP is only able to confirm to you the date that the letter is dispatched.

After receiving your invitation letter(s) you can apply for your visa at a UK Embassy/Consulate or through an Authorized Agent in your country or in the country where you reside. Please be aware that the application requirements might vary from country to country and might add up to two extra weeks to the process of securing your visa.
