The fifteenth annual International Laser Physics Workshop (LPHYS'06) will be held from July 24 to July 28, 2006 in L'Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland.

HOW TO REACH LAUSANNE AND EPFL

TO LAUSANNE FROM ABROAD
Switzerland's main international airports are located in Geneva and Zurich. Direct trains run between Lausanne and both of these airports at almost every hour. The most convenient airport is Geneva.

FROM GENEVA AIRPORT TO LAUSANNE
Lausanne is served by the international airport of Geneva (the closest and most convenient), which is about 60 km from Lausanne (see map).
a) Train: Train connection is available at least twice every hour and lasts approximately 45 minutes from Geneva to Lausanne railway station. Connect to the Swiss Federal Railways server to get a timetable and information about the prices.
b) Taxi: The drive by taxi from Geneva to Lausanne costs approximately CHF 200.
c) Car: Car rental agencies are located at the Geneva airport. It is a 40 minutes drive from Geneva to Lausanne by highway N1. Follow the direction of Lausanne-Sud, then get off the highway at the exit "Universite-EPFL" (see map). After 1km at the first traffic light take a right to drive to the main entrance of EPFL. You will be given the opportunity to buy tickets for the parking on the first day of the conference.

FROM LAUSANNE RAILWAY STATION TO EPFL 
Take the train to Renes (VD) and the Metro (TSOL) to EPFL (see TSOL timetable).
Alternatively you can take the bus to Lausanne St. Francois, make a 5 minutes walk to Lausanne-Flon.

FROM LAUSANNE DOWNTOWN TO EPFL
Take the Metro (TSOL) at Lausanne-Flon (departures every 10 minutes except on Sunday) see public transport timetable and line map. The journey lasts approximately 30 minutes. You'll need another five minutes to reach the conference location at EPFL.
