14th INTERNATIONAL LASER PHYSICS WORKSHOP

The fourteenth annual International Laser Physics Workshop (LPHYS'05) will be held from July 4 to July 8, 2005 in Keihanna Plaza, Kyoto, Japan. Transportation map you see here.

LPHYS'05 continues a series of Workshops held in Dubna 1992, Dubna/Volga river tour 1993, New York 1994, Moscow/Volga river tour (jointly with NATO SILAP Workshop) 1995, Moscow 1996, Prague 1997, Berlin 1998, Budapest 1999, Bordeaux 2000, Moscow 2001, Bratislava 2002, Hamburg 2003, and Trieste 2004.

The total number of participants is expected to be about 250. In the past, participation was typically from over 30 countries.

The Workshop is being organized by:

  • The international journal Laser Physics

  • Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, Kyoto, Japan

  • The international journal Laser Physics Letters

  • International Laser Center, Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia

  • Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow, Russia

Scientific Program of LHYS’05 will include 9 Plenary Lectures and the following 6 Seminars:

     Seminar 1: Modern Trends in Laser Physics
     Seminar 2: Strong Field Phenomena
     Seminar 3: Biophotonics 
     Seminar 4: Physics of Lasers
     Seminar 5: Nonlinear Optics and Spectroscopy
     Seminar 6: Physics of Cold Trapped Atoms

The additional events of LPHYS'05 is the Symposium on "Quantum Information and Computation".

LPHYS’05 is accompanied by the Session of the International Committee on Ultra Intense Lasers (ICUIL). (This is upon the approval of ICUIL).

LPHYS’05 is held under the aegis of The 2005 Year of Physics.
