Laser Physics Letters is a monthly international scientific peer-reviewed journal published by
Wiley-VCH in English. Its goal is rapid publication of new and noteworthy results in the broad area of Laser Physics Sciences. The scope and the topics within the purview of this journal can be found in the
Scope and Topics pages. The journal publishes submitted original articles and invited
Brief Reviews. The Journal was founded in 2003. The first issue of the printed and online versions of the Journal appeared in January 2004.
The Executive Committee of the Editorial Board consisting of the
Editor-in-Chief, and the Deputy
Editors-in-Chief makes the Journal’s editorial decisions. The Editorial Board, as a whole, provides the scientific leadership and the diverse topical expertise for the Journal.
When necessary, the Editors also may call upon ad-hoc panels of specialists for specific advice on Special Journal Issues.
Referees are asked by the Editorial Board to use the following criteria in making recommendations for the suitability of a manuscript for publication:
- The scientific validity of the manuscript.
- The probable impact of the manuscript on its specific field.
- The potential interest in the results reported in the manuscript by a broad segment of the laser sciences community.

Manuscripts submitted for publication must be in English and should be sent by email to
staffeditor@lasphys.com. For black and white printing, there are no page charges for publishing in Laser Physics
Letters. Authors are kindly requested to follow the instructions and manual style found in the
Instruction to Authors.
Once a paper is accepted for publication, it shall be posted as early as 14 days thereafter on the Wiley Inter-Science web site
www.lphys.org. It can be viewed by clicking on the ‘Early View’ button there. A Digital Object Identifier is assigned to the paper as part of this posting, and the paper is promptly indexed in the
Table of Contents section on this site. Thereafter the paper can be cited in the standard manner. The hard copy of the paper appears in print approximately one month later.
Laser Physics Letters is abstracted and/or indexed in Current Contents,
SciSearch, Research Alert, and INSPEC.
The American Institute for Scientific Information recently reported that the impact factor for the Journal for 2008 is
3.779.
